My Autobiography
My name is Maria Lobo, and I entered this world on May 14, 2007, at the San Francisco Hospital in Juticalpa, Honduras. My journey took a significant turn when I immigrated to the United States with my father. Since then, life has presented me with opportunities for growth and fulfillment, surrounded by cherished friends, family, and my significant other. Roughly six to seven years ago, I embarked on my academic pursuit in the U.S., driven by the aspiration for a brighter future for both my parents and myself, though my ultimate career path remains undecided.
During my formative years in Honduras, I received education at a private bilingual institution, where I acquired proficiency in both English and Spanish. However, financial constraints compelled me to transition to a public school, leading to a temporary setback in my English language fluency. The academic calendar structure in Honduras, with its full-year system, contrasted with the U.S. model, resulting in my placement in the third grade upon arrival, despite having completed my studies back home. Nevertheless, this afforded me the opportunity to further enhance my English language skills.
Outside the realm of academics, I find joy in various pursuits. Video gaming serves as a beloved pastime, while my artistic inclinations extend to drawing and crafting. Recently, I've delved into culinary arts, honing my cooking skills. My interests have expanded to encompass diverse crafts, including crepe paper, crochet, and crafting with pipe cleaners, particularly in creating floral arrangements. These endeavors serve as avenues for self-expression and continuous personal growth.
